יָדַע (yada) — Verb
From the Hebrew יָדַע (yada), meaning to know, and by extension to acknowledge or recognise openly. Semantic force: The verb spans intellectual knowledge and intimate acquaintance. In confession it denotes not the transfer of information but open agreement with what is already known. Theological depth: Biblical confession is therefore alignment rather than disclosure. God is not being told; the sinner is ceasing to contradict Him, which is why forgiveness can follow immediately.
