ἀψευδής (apseudēs) — Adjective
From the Greek ἀψευδής (apseudēs), the alpha-privative negating pseudos (a lie): incapable of falsehood. Formal force: The construction denies a capacity rather than describing a habit. It does not mean God reliably tells the truth but that lying is not available to Him. Theological depth: Scripture grounds assurance in the divine nature rather than in divine intention, because intentions can in principle change and natures cannot. This is why the promise can be dated before the world began.
