זָכַר (zakar) — Verb, qal imperfect
From the Hebrew זָכַר (zakar): to remember, to be mindful of, to bring to mind. Semantic force: Hebrew remembering is not the recovery of a lost thought. To remember someone is to act toward them — which is why God remembering Noah is followed by a wind over the waters, not by a feeling. Theological depth: David is not asking whether God thinks about humanity. He is asking why the Maker of a sky like that should turn toward creatures like us and do anything at all.
