“Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”
(KJV)
Paul places the intercession after the resurrection and the enthronement, as the present work of the risen Son.
The Advocate with the FatherNew Testament
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:”
(KJV)
John gives the intercession a courtroom name and a purpose: that ye sin not, and if any man sin.
The Intercession for TransgressorsOld Testament
“Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.”
(KJV)
Isaiah closes the Servant song with intercession — He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Rest securely in Christ's unceasing intercession today. He is holding your soul fast.
Passage:
Focus: Notice the phrase "he ever liveth to make intercession." His living presence in heaven guarantees your eternal safety.
Ask yourself: Have you ever thought of Christ as praying for you today, by name? Ask what that would change about the hours when you have no words for God yourself.
Everlasting Father, Your Son is able to save to the uttermost all who come to You by Him, seeing He ever lives to intercede. Let Your Holy Spirit settle my heart in that unceasing intercession. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus, my unfailing Intercessor. Amen.
