“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
(KJV)
The same letter turns access into an invitation to come boldly, and to come for help in time of need.
The Confidence of FaithNew Testament
“In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.”
(KJV)
Boldness and access are both located in Him, not in the qualifications of the one approaching.
The Restricted Holy PlaceOld Testament
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.”
(KJV)
Under the old covenant Aaron was warned not to come at all times into the holy place, lest he die — which measures what the torn veil cost.
Step directly into God's presence with bold confidence today through the blood of Jesus.
Passage:
Focus: Ponder the "new and living way" consecrated for us through the veil.
Ask yourself: Do you approach God as though there were still a curtain — waiting to be worthy, or for a better week? Ask what you would do differently today if you took "the holiest" as a room you are already standing in.
Jehovah God our Father, I have boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way. Let Your Holy Spirit keep me from approaching timidly what has been opened at such cost. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus, whose flesh is the veil. Amen.
